Funding options for students planning to study in France. Amounts and deadlines can change, so we check the latest details with you before you apply.
| Scholarship | Details |
|---|---|
| Eiffel Excellence Scholarship | A French government scholarship for Master’s and PhD study, run by Campus France. Applications are made through the French institution, which nominates its candidates, so students cannot apply directly. Amounts and deadlines change each year: see Campus France. |
| Charpak Master’s Scholarship (India) | A French government scholarship for Indian students on one- or two-year Master’s programmes, through Campus France India. It is applied for on its own portal, separately from your university application. Amounts and deadlines change each year: see Campus France India. |
| Institution scholarships and fee reductions | Many universities and schools offer their own awards. Amounts, eligibility and deadlines differ by programme and are not listed here, so our counsellors confirm the current details with you before you apply. |

Frequently asked questions
Quick answers to what students ask us first.
Which intake should I choose?
September is the main intake: 1,231 of the 1,334 programmes in our course list start then. Some programmes also start in January or October or other months, with fewer choices. We help you pick the intake that fits your profile.
Do I apply through Campus France?
Indian students usually apply through the Études en France procedure run by Campus France, for admission and for the visa. We guide you through each step and check the latest rules on the Campus France India website with you.
How much money must I show for the France student visa?
Campus France guidance for long-stay student visa applicants is to show resources of at least €615 per month for the length of your stay. The consulate’s checklist decides which documents are accepted, so we confirm the current figures with you before you apply.
Can I work while studying?
Students with a valid student visa or residence permit can generally work up to 964 hours per year without a separate work authorisation. Rules differ for some cases such as internships that are part of your degree, so we share the current rules during counselling. See Service-Public.
Do I need to speak French?
The programmes on this site are listed as taught in English (one lists English and French). Each programme sets its own language requirements, so check the programme page or ask us.
Are scholarships available?
Yes, there are options: the French government’s Eiffel Excellence Scholarship (nominated by institutions) and the Charpak Master’s Scholarship for Indian students, plus awards offered by individual institutions. Eligibility, amounts and deadlines change each year, and we help you match your profile to open options.
Can I stay and work after my degree?
Eligible graduates with a Master’s-level (or equivalent) French degree can apply for a 12-month residence permit to look for work or start a business. Conditions apply, so check Service-Public before you plan.
